“Nutritional foods form an important part of every animals diet. Parrots however require both nutrition and enrichment to keep them stimulated in captivity”

NPS Nutrition Philosophy
Here at The National Parrot Sanctuary we take great pride and importance in the food we feed our animals. With over 1200 parrots and 92 species of animal to feed, there’s certainly a varied diet from day to day.
People's opinion, on what should or should not be eaten, varies as much as food itself. This section of website is intended to give you an idea of what parrots should be eating on a regular basis and why. This information is not just based on findings from one or two pet parrots but is based on information gathered at The National Parrot Sanctuary from studies undertaken with over 1200 parrots across 92 species.

Please check here regularly to see our Nutritional guide providing an overview of edible and palatable foods with their nutritional values.
